Rene Paddock

by Josh Stilwell | Published March 14, 2021

Rene Paddock was a man who loved to talk about heaven. He always said that for the Christian death wasn’t “good bye” it was “see ya later”. Now he’s experiencing heaven first hand. Friday evening, Rene entered the presence of his Lord.

Throughout his years of ministry at Alathea, Rene Paddock held many titles — elder, assistant financial secretary, auditor, interim pastor, elder (again), official secretary, pastor of hospital visitation, and mentoring pastor. But by far his favorite title was “church grandpa.”

Rene attended Faith Baptist Bible College and graduated from Clarksville School of Theology. He came to Alathea after pastoring vocationally for over 20 years. Rene brought a wealth of experience and insights to the leadership team. His passing will definitely be felt by the Alathea family.

Rene and Joyce were “newlyweds” for over 60 years. He is survived by his three children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He will be remembered for his love of God and of people.

Be praying for Joyce, the Paddock family, and all of us who will miss Rene.

See ya later, Rene.

Heaven’s gain is our loss. He will be dearly missed.
